Who I am
Since I graduated from Harvard (B.A., Biology) and the Harvard Graduate School of Education (M.Ed.), I've worked full-time as a high school teacher.
I was a Founding Fellow in the Harvard Teacher Fellows program and a member of Stanford's Hollyhock Fellowship. I’m a National Board Certified Teacher, and I earned the highest distinction of Master Teacher from my school. I have 10 years of experience teaching 9th-12th grade math, from Algebra 1 through AP Calculus.
All of this is to say: I absolutely love teaching and learning.
I grew up in the Bay Area, and am a proud alum of Oak Knoll, Hillview, and Menlo-Atherton High School. I’m thrilled to be back home, where I now live in San Francisco with my wife and daughter.
Why I tutor
I loved my time as a high school teacher, but when my daughter was born in 2025, I chose to leave the classroom and and focus on tutoring (and on being the best dad I could be).
I believe great tutoring requires more than great test scores or subject knowledge. It takes an educator who understands how students learn best – grounded in research from the world’s leading education schools – who has the experience and skills to bring that understanding to life.
Most of all, great tutoring requires someone who sees the brilliance every single student brings to the world. That’s the approach I bring to every session, and I’d be thrilled to work with you.
